Chef's Edge ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Strata Strategic E-Commerce Corp., based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit chefsedge.shop or buy from us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
We keep it simple: we collect what we need to make, ship and support your knife. We don't sell your information.
When you place an order: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, and order details. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments or other secure payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
When you contact us: your name, email, and whatever you include in your message, like photos of a knife you need help with.
When you sign up for emails: your email address and, if you choose to give them, your name and preferences.
When you browse our site: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and how you got to us. We collect this through cookies and similar tools (see below).
We share information only with the service providers who help us run the store, and only what they need to do their job:
We may also share information if the law requires it, or if the business is sold or merged. In that case your information would stay protected under this policy.
Cookies help the store work: they keep your cart saved, remember you at checkout, and show us which pages are useful. Some cookies are used by advertising partners to show you relevant ads on other sites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The store will still work, though some features (like your cart) may not.
We only send marketing emails if you've given us permission. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Order and shipping emails are separate and will still be sent while you have an active order.
Our service providers, including Shopify, may store and process your information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws. We work with providers who protect your data to a standard comparable to Canadian law.
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 7 years in Canada). Marketing data stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Everything else is deleted or anonymized once we no longer need it.
Our store runs on Shopify, which is PCI-DSS compliant and encrypts data in transit. Only people who need access to your information to do their work have it. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

If you live in California or another US state with privacy laws, or in the EU or UK, you may have additional rights, including the right to data portability and to object to certain processing. We'll honour those requests too.

Our products are sharp knives. We do not sell to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you think a minor has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be posted clearly on our site.
