A complete kitchen arsenal, hand-forged in small batches of no more than 5 sets at a time. Every knife is built to be used — and built to last a lifetime.
What You're Getting
This 7-piece set is a complete professional kitchen collection, each blade forged from high-carbon Damascus steel with a distinctive raindrop pattern — the hallmark of layered steel that's been folded, hammered, and ground to a mirror-sharp working edge.
The Set Includes:
1. Cleaver: The workhorse of the collection. Built for heavy-duty kitchen tasks: breaking down whole chickens, chopping through cartilage, splitting dense root vegetables, and anything else that demands real force behind the blade.
2. Chef's Knife: The knife you'll reach for 80% of the time. A classic curved belly that tapers to a pointed tip — perfect for rocking, slicing, dicing, and chopping. This is the most versatile blade in the set and the one you'll form a relationship with over years of use.
3. Nakiri (Vegetable Cleaver): Flat edge. Rectangular profile. No rocking motion needed — just clean, straight-down cuts through any vegetable. If you cook a lot of plant-based meals, this knife will change how you prep.
4. Santoku: Flatter than a chef's knife, with a characteristic sheep's foot tip where the spine curves gently down to meet the edge. Precise, clean cuts on proteins, vegetables, and herbs. The Japanese precision answer to the western chef's knife.
5. Boning / Fillet Knife: A narrow, tapering blade built to hug joints and work around bones. Whether you're breaking down a rack of ribs, filleting a whole salmon, or cleaning up a beef tenderloin, this blade goes where larger knives can't.
6. Utility Knife: The gap-filler. Too small a job for the chef's knife, too big for the paring knife — the utility knife handles everything in between. Sandwiches, slicing tomatoes, trimming herbs, portioning smaller cuts.
7. Paring Knife: Precision at its most refined. Peeling, coring, deveining shrimp, trimming strawberries, creating garnishes. The knife a chef turns to when control matters more than speed.
The Steel
These blades are forged from high-carbon Damascus steel. Its a layered composite that combines hardness and flexibility in a way that single-steel blades cannot match. The raindrop pattern is created during the folding and forging process itself. Every ripple you see in the steel is structural.
Why Small Batch Matters
We produce a maximum of 5 sets (35 knives) per batch. Not because we can't scale — because quality control at that number is something one person can actually execute properly. Every blade is individually inspected, edge-tested, and balanced before it ships.
This is not a factory knife set that happens to have a Damascus pattern. These are handmade tools produced with the same attention a single craftsman would give to a bespoke commission.
What Is Damascus Steel?
Damascus steel is created by forge-welding multiple layers of steel together and repeatedly folding them to create a composite material with distinct visual patterning and superior performance characteristics. The raindrop pattern on these knives is produced by manipulating the billet during forging to create a circular, droplet-like surface texture. High-carbon Damascus blades are known for their edge retention, sharpness, and durability compared to standard stainless steel kitchen knives.
Damascus Steel Knives Care Instructions
Hand wash only — warm water, mild soap
Dry immediately after washing
Store on a magnetic knife strip or in a knife block (blade-up)
Hone before each use; sharpen on whetstone as needed
Apply a drop of food-safe mineral oil to the handle every few months
Common Questions
Are these knives dishwasher safe?
No — and you wouldn't want to. Hand wash with warm water and dry immediately. High-carbon steel is not dishwasher safe, and a dishwasher will dull an edge that took significant effort to create.
How do I maintain the edge?
Use a honing rod before each use and sharpen with a whetstone (1000/3000 grit) when the honing stops restoring performance. Avoid glass cutting boards — they will destroy any quality edge.
How long does shipping take?
There are around 4 sets available for shipping immediately. New batches take 3-4 weeks
What makes this a good gift?
It's a complete professional set that a home cook or working chef will actually use — not display. The small batch production and natural wood handles mean no two sets are identical, which makes it genuinely personal.
